DES MOINES, Iowa — The Powerball bonanza has expanded to an expected $1.23 billion after one more drawing without a major victor Wednesday night.
The numbers chosen were: 11, 38, 41, 62, 65, and the Powerball 15.
The bonanza, which currently positions as the eighth-biggest in U.S. lottery history, has been developing for over 90 days, mirroring the slim chances of 1 in 292.2 million of winning the top award. Since the last player won the bonanza on Jan. 1, there have been 40 back-to-back drawings without anybody matching every one of the six numbers and hitting it rich.
Lottery authorities note that a large number of individuals have won more modest awards, which range from $2 to $2 million.
The $1.23 billion award is for a sole victor who decides to be paid through an annuity with 30 yearly installments. Victors quite often incline toward the money choice, which for the following drawing Saturday night would be an expected $595.1 million.
